Montreal Symphony Event
Dr. Sullivan, Mr. Pressler, Kit Armstrong

In 2013, Dr. Sullivan flew to Montreal, QC, to see his teacher, Menahem Pressler, and his former student, Kit Armstrong, performing a two-piano Mozart concerto with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra under Kent Nagano.

Studio Recitals
The Student Recital Participants

Each year, Sullivan Music Studio arranges a formal recital for its students in the Daniel Recital Hall at CSULB. This large, comfortable, and accoustically excellent hall makes it easy to invite relatives and friends to share in the students' accomplishments.

Pressler Master Classes

On two separate occasions, the famed pianist of the Beaux Arts Trio, Menahem Pressler, has given master classes at Sullivan Music Studio. Mr. Pressler is a Distinguished Professor of Music at Indiana University, and was Dr. Sullivan's teacher there. Clockwise from left: Steven Mann, Arthur Abadi, Dr. Sullivan, Sebastian Chang, Peggy Taylor, and Mr. Pressler.

Other Master Classes

Whenever the opportunity presents itself, Dr Sullivan encourages deserving students to enter master classes given by other outstanding teachers who come to our area to teach. Pictured here is Tomomi Sato playing the Goldberg Variations for USC Professor John Perry in a master class sponsored by the Southern California Junior Bach Festival.

Teaching and Lecturing in Japan

Dr. Sullivan is regularly asked to travel to Japan where he conducts master classes, gives lecture/demostrations and individual lessons, and does student evaluations for the Piano Teachers Music Guild in Tokyo.

Sullivan Music Studio also conducts regularly scheduled Performance Workshops. This is an excellent venue for prospective students and their parents to see first-hand both the level of instruction and the facilities. Visitors should call Dr. Sullivan to find out the upcoming schedule. (714) 893-4990
